. If you want to make your own pizza crust then power to you, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with a store-bought one.

. Cook the steak first and let it rest, then slice it into strips.

. Store-bought pesto is great, but if you want to make pesto sauce check out my Quick Thick Pesto recipe.

. Slice your tomatoes in halves and place them face down so they stick to the cheese better.

. If you want a little more veg in there, sneak some spinach leaves in.

How to Make Pizza

For store bought dough, it’s better the let it come to room temperature before unrolling it. While it warms up a bit, tenderize and cook your steak with some salt and pepper. Once the steak is cooked, let it rest and start to assemble the pizza. First, roll out the dough onto your lined or at least greased baking sheet. Next, spread the pesto sauce over the dough, then layer on parmesan, leaves, olives, tomatoes, pepper rounds, and steak strips. Top it off with mozzarella cheese and bake it 15 or so minutes before carefully broiling.

Mix It Up

Here’s the magical thing about pizza: it’s customizable. Don’t like steak? Swap it out for chicken or a plant based alternative. I’ll be putting out some delectable new pizza recipes soon, but for now consider tinkering with this recipe if certain ingredients don’t work for you.

Helpful Tools

. Meat tenderizer: If you’re an omnivore, you’ve got to have a meat tenderizer. It’s a serious level up, especially if you’re working on a budget and can’t afford the top notch cuts of meat.

. Silicone baking mats: These mats are a life saver when it comes to baking, especially for a recipe like this where the dough has very little oil in it and it highly likely to stick when it bakes.

What to Pair it With

This is a decently high fat, high calorie pizza. If you would feel more satiated with more variety on the plate, try making a big green salad on the side or adding a glass of red wine.

  1. You don’t want to cook your steak too much or you risk drying it out while baking the pizza.
  2. I recommend facing the tomato slices facedown so there is a greeted surface area getting stuck in the melting cheese. This will help keep your tomatoes from falling off your pizza.
